We spent my Mother’s 82nd birthday at the Museum
of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia. We had a special purpose for our visit on this
day; viewing and photographing my Great-grandfather Thomas Jackson “Happy Jack”
Nicholson’s white oak basket on display there.
The maternal side of my family can trace our basket making roots directly
back to Cumberland County, England in 1704.

The DebImage Gallery in Fort Valley, VA is now open every Friday, Saturday & Sunday afternoon through December 20th from 12 to 4 PM. If you cannot visit on those days you may call 540.933.6999 to make an appointment.
The DebImage Gallery has a large selection of matted and framed prints, including many not yet on the web site, prints on canvas, gift certificates, Cedar Creek herbal soaps and salves,and Fort Valley Museum ornaments and Christmas Cards.

After finally getting my foot out of the cast, I am out and about once again hiking and photographing new subjects.
